Prune And Strawberry Tart

Prunes and strawberries are a good combination, but you can also make this recipe without the prunes.

Makes/Serves: tart


  • 250 g Strawberries
  • 1 Eating Apple
  • 8 Pitted Prunes
  • 50 g Pine Nuts
  • 2 teaspoons Caster Sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 320 g Puff Pastry


  1. Hull and halve the strawberries. Peel and thinly slice the apple.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and line a 20cm flan tin.
  3. Chop half of the strawberries with mix with the chopped the apple, spread over the base of the tart.
  4. Arrange the remaining fruits on the top and sprinkle with pine nuts and sugar.
  5. Bake at 200°C for 20 mins then reduce the heat until the top is brown and slightly bubbling.
  6. Sprinkle with icing sugar just before serving with crème fraiche or greek yoghurt.
