  Cooking temperature: 190°C

Makes/Serves: cookies

  • 225 g Self Raising Flour
  • 110 g Margarine
  • 110 g Caster Sugar
  • 55 g Soft Brown Sugar
  • 165 g Chocolate chips
  • 1 Egg

  1. Preheat the oven and grease or line a baking sheet ready.
  2. Put the flour and margarine into a bowl and cut up the margarine with a knife. Then use your fingertips to rub the margarine into the flour.
  3. Stir in the sugars and chocolate chips, followed by the beaten egg.
  4. Knead together to form a smooth dough.
  5. Break off small bits of the dough and roll into a ball, then flatten onto the baking sheet with a wet fork.
  6. Leave plenty of space between the cookies as they will expand when they cook.
  7. Cook for 8-10 minutes then leave to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. (or eating!)
