Makes/Serves:

Ingredients

  • 225 g Bread Flour
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 15 g Butter
  • 1 sachet Fast Action Dried Yeast
  • 125 ml Warm Water
  • 1 Egg

Method

  1. Melt the butter and place in a bowl with all the other ingredients.
  2. Mix to a dough and knead well.
  3. Divide into golf ball sized pieces, pat into a ball and leave on a greased tray to rise.
  4. After about an hour they should have doubled in size.
  5. Set your deep fryer to 150°C and fry the donuts until they are golden brown. This will take about 8-10 mins on each side.
  6. Drain and roll the donuts in sugar.
  7. Leave to cool.

Optional

Once the donuts are cool, you can pierce a hole in the side and pipe in some jam.
