Frangipane

The photograph shows this frangipane on some mince pie bakewell tarts. The flaked almonds on top are optional.

Ingredients

  • 60 g Butter
  • 60 g Caster Sugar
  • 60 g Ground Almonds
  • 15 g Plain Flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon Almond Essence

Method

  1. Put all the ingredients into a food processor and whizz together. Easy.
  2. Cooking times will depend on what it's going on or in. One batch will top 12 individual Bakewell tarts, which take about 20 mins to cook.
